They had to make a video. Do you realize what a pain in the ass that makes everything? As I got to the venue, there were signs posted about how anybody entering the venue will be filmed for no compensation. Now, if this were a free event, there would be no problem, but as this is a paid event, I’m sure there is some legal action that can be taken. Then again, how much would a Rancid video pay?
Well, another K-Rock 92 cent Low Dough Show (with $4.50 service charges) starring Rancid at CBGB’s became the site for their new video “Red Hot Moon.” Rancid had never played CBGB’s before and with cameras everywhere and a guest appearance by Transplants member Rob Aston, the crowd decided to ham it up a bit and go absolutely insane during the two times “Red Hot Moon” was played.
People flying off the stage, jumping on chairs, knocking down tables and bottles of beer were getting broken all over the place as the entire venue erupted into a pit. That’s exactly what a punk show at CBGB’s should be like, chaotic and fun, with only a few bruises on the side. Given the generous portion of songs that Rancid performed (granted they can play 7 of their songs in 10 minutes). One certainly got their money’s worth for this show. |
